🕯️ Focus Questions in Session

When you sense a part but it’s still vague, focus questions help bring it into view. They’re invitations to slow down and notice more.
Start simple:
“Where do you feel it most clearly right now?”
“What’s it like there?”
“Would it be okay if we just stayed with it together for a moment?”
Then, as more emerges, stay curious:
“Is it moving or changing at all?”
“Does it seem close or far from you?”
“What happens when you give it your attention?”
“Does it like you focusing on it, or is that uncomfortable for it?”
If the mind rushes to analyze, you can gently return: “Let’s just see what it’s like to be with it directly.”
Focus questions aren’t about understanding the part’s story — not yet. They’re about building connection through presence. You’re saying with every word: I see you, I’m staying.
When a part realizes it doesn’t have to shout to be noticed, it softens. Focus becomes the doorway to the deeper work ahead.
