🕯️ How Do I Know If I Am in Self?

Self isn’t a mood you chase; it’s a state that emerges when no part is dominating. You’ll know you’re in Self not because you feel perfect, but because you feel present. There’s a quiet confidence in your body, a softness behind your curiosity, a sense that nothing inside needs to be pushed away.
When you’re in Self, you can notice thoughts and feelings without becoming them. Anger can arise, and yet you can breathe with it instead of lashing out. Fear can speak, and you can listen instead of shrinking.
The Eight C’s —
calm,
curiosity,
clarity,
compassion,
confidence,
courage,
creativity, and
connectedness
They are guideposts, not requirements. You don't have to feel all eight to be in Self. Even one is enough to begin.
If you’re unsure, ask: How do I feel toward this part right now? If there’s warmth, openness, or simple presence, you’re close. If there’s judgment or urgency, another part may be blended. That’s not wrong; it’s just information.
Self isn’t rare or mystical. It’s the natural leader within, always available when protectors relax their grip. You don’t summon Self — you make space for it.
And when it comes, the whole system exhales.
