🕯️IFS and Self-Aware

Self-awareness in IFS isn’t analysis — it’s relationship. It’s not about dissecting what’s wrong, but learning who inside is speaking, feeling, or acting in each moment.
A perfectionist part may study the system to gain control.
A critical part may label every emotion as a problem.
A fearful part may avoid awareness altogether, equating it with danger.
IFS offers gentler questions:
“Who in me feels this way?”
“What is that part trying to protect?”
When Self leads awareness, it becomes compassionate rather than clinical. You don’t watch yourself from a distance — you accompany your parts with warmth and curiosity.
In IFS, self-awareness isn’t observation. It’s intimacy — the courage to turn toward your inner world and stay.
