🕯️IFS and Vulnerability
- Everything IFS

Vulnerability in IFS isn’t exposure for its own sake — it’s the courage of parts stepping forward after lifetimes of hiding. It’s the system whispering, Maybe it’s safe now.
A protector may tense, fearing that openness will invite harm.
A shamed part may equate vulnerability with humiliation.
An exile may tremble between hope and dread, remembering both comfort and pain.
IFS moves slowly:
“Who in me wants to be seen?”
“Who in me is afraid of that?”
When Self holds the space — steady, curious, kind — vulnerability becomes strength, not risk. It’s not the opposite of protection; it’s protection finally learning trust.
In IFS, vulnerability is love in motion — the system daring to believe that safety can exist even while the heart is open.
