BUDDHISM COURSES

The Four Noble Truths

Instructor:

(the front door of the whole tradition, and truth one is literally "there is suffering," which is exile territory from lesson one)

The Noble Eightfold Path

Instructor:

(your anchor course, feeds the journey)

The Life of the Buddha

Instructor:

(narrative courses activate; the palace, the four sights, leaving home, the bodhi tree — it's a parts story about a protector-built paradise collapsing)

Karma, Rebirth, and Samsara

Instructor:

(massive curiosity traffic, and samsara as "the loops my parts keep running" is one of the most natural IFS integrations in the entire Sanctuary)

The Dhammapada

Instructor:

(short verses, perfect lesson structure, the most beloved Buddhist text for lay readers)

Zen Stories and Koans

Instructor:

This is your Team Member description. Use this space to write a brief description of this person’s role and responsibilities, or add a short bio.

Shamatha and Vipassana

Instructor:

(practice courses convert; meditation is where restless parts, doubting parts, and "I'm doing it wrong" critics show up on cue)

The Five Aggregates & The Three Marks

Instructor:

(keep, because "not-self" is the single most important conversation between Buddhism and IFS, and you want to own it — but see my note below)

Dependent Origination

Instructor:

(keep as your one advanced-philosophy course; the twelve links read like a firefighter chain-reaction diagram)

Diamond & Heart Sutra

Instructor:

Lotus Sutra (gorgeous but enormous, sectarian in emphasis, and low lay-audience demand in the West; this is your Isaiah)
Diamond & Heart Sutra (borderline. The Heart Sutra alone might earn a short course someday because "form is emptiness" fascinates people, but the Diamond Sutra drags it into deep-philosophy territory. Park it.)

The Paramitas (The Six Perfections)

Instructor:

(generosity, ethics, patience, energy, meditation, wisdom — like Fruit of the Spirit, each perfection has a protector blocking it, so the integration writes itself, and it's a beloved framework you're missing)

Metta: The Practice of Loving-Kindness

Instructor:

(one of the most searched Buddhist practices in the West, and the classic metta sequence — self, loved one, neutral person, difficult person — is almost embarrassingly compatible with sending compassion to parts. The "may I be happy" line alone flushes out every part that believes the person doesn't deserve it)

The Eightfold Path Journey — 8 or 16 days.

Instructor:

One factor per day, or two days each (learn, then embody). Right Speech day alone will introduce students to their inner critic formally. Your Buddhist flagship.

The Metta Journey — 10 days.

Instructor:

Progressive loving-kindness, but each recipient stage is done with parts: day one is metta toward Self-energy itself, later days send metta to the difficult person while tending the protectors who object. This will be your best-seller in this path.

The Four Noble Truths Journey — 12 days.

Instructor:

Three days per truth. Sitting with suffering, meeting craving as a firefighter, glimpsing what release feels like in the body, then walking the path forward.

Living the Paramitas — 6 or 12 days.

Instructor:

One perfection at a time, meeting the blocker before practicing the perfection. Sister journey to Fruit of the Spirit, which also gives you a lovely cross-path symmetry.

The Vesak Journey — 7 days

Instructor:

(seasonal, May). The Buddha's birth, awakening, and passing as an inner journey. Your Buddhist calendar anchor, smaller than Lent but it gives the path an annual heartbeat.
