Al-‘Azīz (ٱلْعَزِيزُ)
The Almighty, The Unconquerable, The Most Honorable
Pronounced: al-‘Azeez Root: ع-ز-ز (‘A-Z-Z) — to be mighty, strong, rare, precious, invincible
Original Invocation (Arabic Calligraphy):ٱلْعَزِيزُ
Sacred Reflection
Al-‘Azīz is the strength behind all things,
the flame that cannot be put out,
the pillar that does not crack.
But He is not just strength.
He is dignity.
He is the Name that carries both majesty and honor.
Not the might of a bully,
but the sacred might of One who does not need to prove Himself.
To call on Al-‘Azīz is not to plead for power.
It is to remember you are upheld
by something that cannot be broken.
In the Sufi path, Al-‘Azīz is the unshakeable sovereignty of the Divine,
the assurance that no matter how chaotic the world becomes,
there is a strength underneath all things
that is still intact.
This is the Name that anchors you when your own strength fails.
When your parts collapse in fear.
When you forget who you are.
Al-‘Azīz says:
I never forgot.
I never fell.
I am still holding the frame.
He is the Might that protects,
not the power that punishes.
He is the dignity of your soul,
the part of you that cannot be humiliated,
because it was never dependent on others to be worthy.
Parts Work Invitation
What part of you feels weak?
Ashamed for breaking down?
Crushed by how small it feels?
Let it be met now by Al-‘Azīz.
Let it feel the unshakable Presence that says:
You are not made of collapse.
You are made of something that cannot be conquered.
Let this part remember:
You were never meant to hold yourself up alone.
Al-‘Azīz holds the sky in place.
He can hold you too.
You are not pathetic.
You are not powerless.
You are being upheld by the Almighty.
Let your trembling part rest
against a chest that cannot fall.
