Sacred Reflection

Al-Bāqī is not just the One who never ends.

He is the One who remains, after all else fades.

When the towers fall,

when the names are forgotten,

when the body is dust

and the voice has no breath left, He remains.

In Sufi cosmology, Al-Bāqī is the Eternal Presence beneath impermanence

Not just beyond time, but within every moment, quietly enduring,

like stillness holding the dance.

To feel Al-Bāqī is to touch the part of you

that was never born and will never die.

The essence that watched your first breath

and will still be here after your last.

Your fears cannot unmake Him.

Your grief cannot exhaust Him.

Your loneliness cannot drive Him away.

You lose everything, and He remains.

You collapse, and He stays.

You let go, and still, He is holding you.

What part of you fears endings?

The one who clings to what’s slipping away,

the relationship, the youth, the image, the control.

The one who says:

“If I let this go, there will be nothing left.”

“If they leave, I will vanish too.”

“If I change, I’ll lose who I was.”

Let that part be held by Al-Bāqī.

Let it feel what cannot be lost.

Let it rest in what never crumbles

Let it hear:

“You are not what fades.

You are not the role, the body, the story.

You are the one I remain inside.

I do not leave when things fall apart.

I become what is left.”

Let this part unclench.

Let it stop gripping for permanence in the wrong places.

You were not made to be eternal in form.

You were made to return to the One who is.

And He has never departed.

He is still here.

Still inside.

Still holding your name in the dark.

Still whispering: “I remain.”
