Al-Wāsiʿ (ٱلْوَاسِعُ)
The All-Encompassing, The Vast, The Boundless One
Pronounced: al-WĀ-siʿRoot: و-س-ع (W-S-ʿ) — to be vast, wide, spacious, all-encompassing
Original Invocation (Arabic Calligraphy):ٱلْوَاسِعُ
Sacred Reflection
Al-Wāsiʿ is not just big.
He is vastness itself.
Not the kind of vast that leaves you feeling small,
but the kind that makes you breathe
for the first time in years.
He is the spaciousness where nothing is left out.
The wideness that holds what others discard.
The field so endless that even your most exiled parts
find a place to rest.
In Sufi knowing, Al-Wāsiʿ is the embrace that has no edge.
The sky that doesn’t shrink when you scream.
The Presence that says,
“There is room for that, too.”
Your grief is held.
Your rage is held.
Your doubt, your ache, your silence, your shattered prayers,
all of it is held without recoil.
He does not rush you into healing.
He gives you space to unfold
at the pace of trust.
Al-Wāsiʿ is not trying to fix you.
He is making enough room for you
to be fully here.
No compressing.
No cutting parts off to fit the mold.
No more shrinking into roles just to survive.
You do not have to be small
to be safe anymore.
Parts Work Invitation
What part of you feels too big to be held?
The one that says,
“My sadness will consume the room.”
“My needs take up too much space.”
“There is no place for all of me.”
Let that part be met now by Al-Wāsiʿ.
Let it feel a love that does not flinch.
A Presence that does not say, “That is too much.”
But instead whispers:
Come.
You fit here.
You always did.
Let it hear:
I am the space beneath your shame.
I am the room around your rage.
I am the expanse where nothing in you is rejected.
Let this part breathe in its full size.
Let it stretch.
Let it weep.
Let it rise.
There is no emotion too large.
No history too tangled.
No longing too loud
for the One who is without boundary.
And maybe, for the first time,
this part does not have to whisper its pain.
It can speak at full volume
and still be loved.
Because Al-Wāsiʿ
is not afraid of the whole of you.
