Dhul-Jalāl wal-Ikram (ذُو الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ) The Lord of Majesty and Honor, The One Whose Glory and Generosity Encompass All
Pronounced: Dhu-al-Ja-Lāl wal-Ik-RĀM
Original Invocation (Arabic Calligraphy):ذُو الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
Sacred Reflection
Dhul-Jalāl wal-Ikram is the divine fusion of majesty and mercy.
He is the Throne above thrones and the Open Hand beneath every need.
In His Majesty, He is vast beyond comprehension.
All creation bows at the echo of His Name.
In His Honor, He is gentle beyond compassion.
Every soul finds dignity under His gaze.
He doesn’t bargain in glory.
He doesn’t trade worth for kindness.
He simply is, the sovereign Exalted,
and the gracious Benevolent.
In Sufi knowing, this Name is the sanctuary where awe meets belonging.
It is where a trembling heart discovers it is not too small for the Divine.
It is where the soul realizes that magnificence does not exclude softness,
that glory does not demand distance, that honor can be wrapped in mercy.
He rules with the calm of stars and the breadth of oceans
He honors with the gentleness of dawn and the hush of twilight.
No throne too high.
No wound too low.
Under Him all finds justice, all finds refuge, all finds return.
Parts Work Invitation
What part of you fears majesty?
The one that says,
“God is too great for me to touch…”
“I don’t deserve honor…”
“I’m too small, too scarred, too broken to stand before greatness…”
Bring that part close to Dhul-Jalāl wal-Ikram.
Let it feel the sacred paradox,
that majesty can cradle mercy,
that honor can hold tenderness.
Let it hear:
“You are not outside My grandeur.
You are not beneath My mercy.
You are the vessel where My Glory softens into grace.”
Let that part soften its fear.
Let it unveil.
Let it rest in the truth that you are not too low
for a throne.
You are not too unworthy
for honor.
Because the One whose Majesty fills galaxies
wraps you in compassion.
You are loved by the King of Majesty
and held by the Lord of Honor.
