Al-‘Aliyy (ٱلْعَلِيُّ)
The Most High, The Exalted
Pronunciation: al-‘AliyyRoot: ع-ل-و (ʿ-L-W) — to be high, lofty, exalted, above all
Original Invocation (Arabic Calligraphy):ٱلْعَلِيُّ
Sacred Reflection
He is above,
not in distance,
but in essence.
Al-‘Aliyy is the One who is beyond comparison,
beyond corruption,
beyond the reach of all that decays.
No shadow can touch Him.
No lie can rise to His throne.
No illusion can stand where He reigns.
He is loftiness without arrogance.
Majesty without detachment.
When you raise your eyes,
in yearning,
in prayer,
in desperate reaching,
you are not lifting yourself into a void.
You are rising toward what is already holding you.
You are remembering your origin,
not lowliness,
but Light.
To know Al-‘Aliyy
is to remember
you were not made to crawl in shame.
You were made to stand
n the reflection
of the Exalted One.
Parts Work Invitation
What part of you has felt small,
not in reverence,
but in rejection?
A part that hunches down,
that believes it is too low to be loved,
too unworthy to be raised.
Let that part look toward Al-‘Aliyy.
Not to be scolded,
but lifted.
Let it hear:
You are not beneath Me. Y
ou are beloved by Me.
Let it rise in remembrance
of its sacred origin.
Let it feel what it is like
o be held by something higher
without being erased.
Not crushed.
Exalted.
