⚙️ Welcome to the Chrysippus of Soli Course for Everyday People
Chrysippus of Soli was a Greek philosopher who lived from roughly 279 to 206 BC and became the third leader of the Stoic school in Athens. He arrived there as a foreigner who had lost his fortune, trained in his youth as a long-distance runner, and went on to write more than seven hundred books, almost none of which survive. The ancients gave him a striking title, the second founder of Stoicism, because he is the one who took a young and embattled philosophy and made it strong enough to last. What drove him was a single conviction: that wisdom is a matter of reasoning rightly, all the way down, and that a philosophy worth living by has to hold together as one tested whole rather than a scatter of comforting lines.
This course teaches Chrysippus on his own terms, pure to himself and his Stoic school, with no other thinkers or modern methods blended in. It is written in plain, down-to-earth language that anyone can follow, whether you have studied Stoicism for years or this is your very first step toward it. It is not an academic seminar and it is not motivational content; it is Chrysippus's actual ideas, laid out clearly enough that you can understand them and carry them into the way you see your own life. Each lesson gives you real teaching, concrete real-life examples, and an honest account of both the brilliance of his thought and the genuine contradictions and puzzles inside it.
