The pendulum is the smallest instrument in all of divination, a weight on a chain that answers one question at a time, and its story is far bigger than its size. Its first detailed appearance in the historical record is a ring on a linen thread in a Roman treason trial, written down by the eyewitness historian Ammianus Marcellinus, and its modern shape was forged by two French priests, Abbé Alexis Bouly, who gave the practice its own name, radiesthesia, and Abbé Alexis Mermet, remembered as the king of dowsers, while the tradition's own legends reach back further still, to an ancient Egypt and China the record can't confirm. From village well-finders to dowsing societies to the crystal shop down the street, this little instrument has been asked to find water, lost things, and answers of every kind, and this course tells that whole story.
This course teaches pendulums pure to themselves, with no other systems blended in.
